This medium to low energy haylage is high in dry matter and fibre, but lower in sugar and energy (calories) compared to our Ryegrass and Ryegrass & Timothy varieties.

Our most popular variety, cut from second- and third-year leys. This late heading perennial ryegrass is a versatile and quality forage suitable for most horses and ponies. Ideal for competition horses and ponies, brood mares, natives, some laminitics and those in light to medium work or at rest.

Nutritional Information. Dry Matter 70-80%, Digestible Energy 6-8 mj/kg, Digestible Fibre 55-60%, Crude Protein 6-8%, Lactic Acid 35-50%, Sugar (Typical of Dry matter) 4-7%

Ryegrass - Medium to high energy for those in hard work

Known for its consistent quality and first-class nutritional benefits for over 25 years, this top of the range forage is perfect for competition and performance horses or those in hard work due to its higher protein, fibre and energy content.

Made from early heading Italian and perennial ryegrasses, this first year first cut seeds haylage is grown and produced to give horses optimum energy levels and digestibility. For competition horses or those in hard work. Ideal for competition horses and those in hard work.

Nutritional Information. Dry Matter 70-80%, Digestible Energy 9-12 mj/kg, Digestible Fibre 60-70%, Crude Protein 9-12%, Lactic Acid 35-50%, Sugar (Typical of Dry matter) 8-9%

Ryegrass & Timothy - Medium energy for moderate to high levels of work

With a similar amount of digestible fibre to our High Fibre product, our Baillie Haylage Ryegrass & Timothy has more digestible energy (calories), which is a popular choice for those feeding broodmares or competition horses.

The timothy grass in this mix adds to the fibre content and makes this variety particularly palatable. Popular with fussy feeders who need a little more energy through their forage. Ideal for competition horses, brood mares, fussy eaters and those in medium work.

Nutritional Information. Dry Matter 70-80%, Digestible Energy 7-10 mj/kg, Digestible Fibre 60-65%, Crude Protein 6-9%, Lactic Acid 30-40%, Sugar (Typical of Dry matter) 7-9%

Parkland Meadow - Medium to low energy for those in light work or at rest

The Baillie Haylage Traditional Parkland Meadow differs from other Baillie Haylage varieties as it is made from a mixture of long-established grasses and as such replicates a forage typical of yester year.

Made from well-established Lincolnshire parkland with natural grasses including: tall fescue, meadow fescue, timothy and perennial ryegrasses. Softer than the High Fibre but with more stem than the Meadow Grass. Ideal for older horses, native breeds, fussy feeders, some laminitics, convalescents and those in light work or at rest.

Nutritional Information. Dry Matter 70-80%, Digestible Energy 6-8 mj/kg, Digestible Fibre 50-60%, Crude Protein 6-8%, Lactic Acid 30-45%, Sugar (Typical of Dry matter) 4-7%

Meadow Grass - Medium to low energy with a soft texture

Baillie Haylage Meadow Grass is darker in colour to our other varieties but is extremely palatable - horses and ponies love it, especially those with teething problems.

Cut late in the season, the Meadow Grass is Baillie Haylage's softest, leafiest variety making it perfect for older horses with poor teeth. Ideal for older horses, fussy feeders, convalescents and those in light work or at rest.

Nutritional Information. Dry Matter 70-80%, Digestible Energy 6-7 mj/kg, Digestible Fibre 45-60%, Crude Protein 6-8%, Lactic Acid 30-40%, Sugar (Typical of Dry matter) 4-7%
