Equest Oral Gel Horse Wormer is an easy to use oral gel that comes in an easy dose syringe which makes ensuring you are given the right dosage simple. It is designed to be effective against adult and immature roundworms, including encysted inhibited and developing larval stage of small redworm, it also treats and controls bots (Bot fly larvae).

Each syringe of Equest wormer can treat a horse up to 700Kg, the oral gel contains 18.92mg/g of moxidectin. It is one of the few wormers licensed to control the important encysted larval stages of small red worms. It provides 13 weeks of protection but also has a unique two-week persistency against small strongyle. Equest also aims to make their wormers less toxic to the natural beetle and other insects which help to break up the dung on the pasture, This helps keep the pasture cleaner and healthier as more dung can be broken down.

The gel liquefies in the horse's mouth to help reduce the risk of rejection, this greatly helps ensure that the horse receives the correct dose. Equest is licensed for use in horses and ponies, including pregnant and lactating mares, stallions and foals from the age of 4 months of age. Equest oral gel can also be used in conjunction with Equest Pramox alternately alternating every quarter for a years complete worming programme.

Dosage

For oral administration. A single oral dose of 400 µg moxidectin/kg body weight using the calibrated syringe. Before the first dose, hold the syringe with the capped end pointing to the left and so that you can see the weight measurements and tick marks (small black lines). Set the syringe to zero by moving the dial ring so that the left side is set at the first full black mark and depress the plunger, safely discarding any paste that is expelled.

To dose the product, hold the syringe as previously described. Each tick mark relates to 25 kg body weight and to 10 mg moxidectin. Turn the dial ring until the left side of the ring lines up with the weight of the animal.

Use of a scale or weigh tape is recommended to ensure accurate dosing.

A single syringe treats a 700 kg horse.

To avoid overdosing, care should be taken to accurately dose foals, especially low bodyweight foals or young ponies
